Hello Families!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we enjoyed some wonderful read alouds for World Read Aloud Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you, Mrs. Dakhlallah for informing us of this special world-wide event and for sharing the link to listen to authors read to us live!!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We listened to Lucille Colandro read There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Cactus live!!! Children from all over our big world were selected to read aloud too as well as ask the author questions!! This went along well with the Benchmark Unit we finished not too long ago. We talked about why do authors write stories during that unit!!! How awesome to hear from a real life author!!! Take a look at what we did as engineers this morning! In addition to being engineers, we practiced directionality while reading, counted syllables, recognized letters and sounds, and compared the past and present uses of technology at home and at school. We also had a lovely visit from Mrs. Torres. She taught the students how to draw beautiful roses! And, of course we practiced counting by ones and tens to 100 and reviewed 2D shapes. We also practiced counting groups of ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This friend remembered that we learned groundhogs have burrows with two rooms…one for eating and sleeping, and one for using the bathroom!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
