Hello Families!<\/p>\n

We had a great day today! It was a marvelous start to the week! Please take a look at the pictures and the captions below to check out all that we did today.<\/p>\n

Also, as a quick reminder, please be sure to send a warm jacket to school with your child. The temperature is getting chilly and we still go outside to play! Thank you for all you do!<\/p>\n

We had a visit for Fire Safety Month from some of the wonderful Dearborn Firefighters!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The firefighters taught us what to do if our clothing caught on fire….We need to STOP, DROP, and ROLL!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The firefighters taught us about the special equipment they wear that helps them stay safe in a fire rescue.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The firefighters demonstrated wat they would sound like and look like if they were coming to rescue someone from a burning building. We learned we do not need to ever be afraid of the firefighters!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We learned about the special tools on the fire engine!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We even saw the inside, where the firefighters sit on their way to a rescue!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Lastly,<\/a>

Lastly, we waved goodbye as they left showing us the sirens and lights on the fire engine and the ambulance.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"I<\/a>

I introduced informational text today! The children were each given a new informational text for their book boxes.<\/p><\/div>\n

We read our informational books during read to self time as part of aDaily 5!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"The<\/a>

The children tried the candy called candy corn today! Some thought it was yummy and some did not!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We<\/a>

We talked about how we can have different opinions and still be friends. Here, one friend likes candy corn and the other does not!<\/p><\/div>\n

We practiced writing numbers 1, 2, and 3 with a rhyme for each one. We used our magic boards. Please practice counting and writing numbers 0-10 at home.<\/p><\/div>\n

We are learning about opinion writing and how to share our opinion. We each tried a piece of a green apple and a piece of a red apple to form an opinion about which one we like the best.<\/p><\/div>\n

Some of us liked the sour green apple.<\/p><\/div>\n

Some of us like the sweet red apple.<\/p><\/div>\n

We turned to our carpet buddy and orally shared our opinion using the sentence stem, “I like the ______ apple.”<\/p><\/div>\n

We had a great time at the Cipriano Race! Thanks for organizing it for the students, Ms. Coach! Way to go Oakman Lions for finishing the race like champions!<\/p><\/div>\n

Congratulations Afnan!!! Second year getting an award at the race!!! Amazing!<\/p><\/div>\n

Thank you for all you do! We started a new way of indoor lineup. The Oakman students will be guided by safeties and support teachers to their classrooms. I will greet them at the classroom door at 8:30! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 Except for Wednesday of this week…..its a Late Start. School will begin at 9:30.<\/p>\n
