Hello Families!<\/p>\n
We have been working on the Three Ways to Read a Book. (Read the pictures, Read the words, and Retell the story). The children have been practicing reading the pictures. We have also been practicing retelling the story.<\/p>\n
We practiced retelling the story with Three Billy Goats Gruff. We listened to the story and sang a song about the story. Then we made stick puppets to help us retell the story at home to our families. If you do not have this book at home, please go to you tube and search for the read aloud of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. There are many to chose from.<\/p>\n
Today we read the Three Little Pigs. We practiced retelling the story using pictures! We colored the pictures from the story and glued them in order of the houses that the Big Bad Wolf visited.<\/p>\n
In addition to this reading strategy, we practiced identifying numbers 1-5.<\/p>\n
We played a number game called Number Stew! The child pulled a number from the pot and told us all the number they got! Then they placed their number on the easel with its match.<\/p>\n
And…we practiced using simple 2D shapes to draw people as we created our family portraits. First we practiced on our Magic Boards.<\/p>\n
