Hello Families!<\/p>\n

Today we practiced the 3 ways to read a book.<\/p>\n

We can…<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Read the Pictures<\/li>\n
  2. Read the Words<\/li>\n
  3. Retell the Story<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    First we practiced finding the front of the book to know where to begin.<\/p>\n

    Then we practiced using the illustrations to “read the pictures” as we made up the story. We began with the words, “Once upon a time…”<\/p>\n

    We also listened a familiar story as I read the words.<\/p>\n

    After this, we practiced retelling the familiar story together.<\/p>\n

    Please use a book at home to practice the 3 ways to read a book with your child!<\/p>\n

    I am also sending home reading bags today. Inside you will find name practice homework to be done daily. I included directions inside the bag too. This should be done for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

    The reading bag and its contents comes back to school everyday! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
