Hello Kindergarten Families!<\/span> Happy 32nd week of Kindergarten! Please help your child login to Clever to access MyOn. Daily homework is the following: 20 minutes on MobyMax and myOn, work from something in math bag, reading books from reading bag and practicing sight words.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ethnic Dinner is on Thursday, May 11<\/b>th <\/b>at 5:00! Please plan on attending this fun-filled night with your family. <\/b><\/p>\n

Wednesday begins the ABC Countdown to the last day of kindergarten! <\/b><\/p>\n

Wednesday: A- <\/b>Bring an<\/span> apple <\/b>to school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday: B- <\/b>Bring a stuffed<\/span> bear <\/b>to school!<\/span><\/p>\n

Thursday, May 11<\/b>th<\/b> at 9:30 is a very special Muffins for Moms Concert. Your child will be singing on stage. Please plan on attending this adorable event!<\/b><\/p>\n

Friday: C- Cookie <\/b>Day!<\/span> We will provide a yummy cookie for our sweet students!<\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday is Kindergarten Registration for incoming kindergarten students. This is by appointment only.<\/b><\/p>\n

Spelling<\/b>: <\/b>Here are the words for this week. Please be sure to help your child practice EVERYDAY! The test is on FRIDAY! Your child will be tested on three word family words and three sight words. * We will also give your child a \u201ccold word\u201d to spell. This is a word that follows the pattern of the word family. (an ex. is sub)<\/span><\/p>\n

    Reading: <\/b>We are practicing many reading strategies. We will continue to identify reasons an author gives for supporting details about a topic. We will also continue to practice identifying similarities and differences between two texts on the same topic. In addition, we will practice flipping the vowel sound in words. (ex. the o on hop is short o, but the o in hope is long o and says its name.) Please practice the following sight words: (These are words your child needs to recognize and read by sight.) \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Math: <\/b>We will continue learn about place value as we compose and decompose teen numbers. (ex. 16 is one group of 10 and 6 extra ones). We will also take a computation test on addition and subtraction up to 5. Please practice math facts.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Science: <\/b>We will continue our science explorations. We will explore trees and their parts as well as weather! <\/span><\/p>\n

    Social Studies: <\/b>We will continue to talk about ways to work with the common good to solve problems in our classroom and in our community. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Writing: <\/b>This week we will practice informational writing about living things and their needs. We will write three facts about our topic as we practice starting our sentences in different ways. Please practice writing sentences with your child each day. Be sure they are using finger spaces between words, stretching for sounds, and using sight words correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n
