Hello! My name is Charissa Duncanson and I am the general music teacher at McDonald Elementary school. I received a degree in Vocal Music Education from Wayne State University, and have been teaching at McDonald since December 2014. My main instrument is voice, however I also play piano and guitar.<\/p>\n

When I am not at school or singing I like to spend my\u00a0time with my husband, family, and cat,\u00a0Emma. I am also involved in a Music Educator Organization, DOSA (Detroit Orff Shulwerk Association), where I serve on the board. We meet every month and learn new ways to teach and share music with our students.<\/p>\n

My goal, as a music educator, is to expose every student to music, and to instill the appreciation of music, while at the same time teaching musical concepts. I strive to expand my students interests through composing, movement, singing, and instrument playing. Using these methods, I am committed to\u00a0introducing concepts in an attractive way allowing my students to grow into well-rounded music consumers.<\/p>\n
