Remember, this will benefit you not only now but in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I<strong>f you\u00a0email\u00a0me and do not use proper formatting, I will not be able to answer your question.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will respond with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Hello ________,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>While I appreciate you\u00a0emailing\u00a0me, you have not used proper\u00a0email\u00a0formatting. Written communication is incredibly important for your future success. I will not answer your\u00a0email\u00a0until such time that you can use proper formatting. I will include a link to the 4 September 2019 blog post. You may then rewrite and resend your\u00a0email<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Thank you for valuing your professionalism,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All&nbsp;emails&nbsp;sent by students to Fordson staff should come from your Dearborn Schools account (<a href=\"mailto:xxxxxxxx@dearbornschools.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">xxxxxxxx@dearbornschools.org<\/a>), I will not respond to personal accounts. I welcome&nbsp;emails&nbsp;from parents and their personal accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A subject line is required<\/strong>; include a few words about the topic of your&nbsp;email: Research Paper Question, Concern about Grades, Event in Class. To not type your entire&nbsp;email&nbsp;in the subject line. Also, avoid vague terms: \u201cessay thing,\u201d \u201cquestion,\u201d \u201cthoughts,\u201d etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A greeting should begin your&nbsp;email<\/strong>. Always acknowledge the person you are addressing. Do not just begin typing your question\/concern. Use the greeting and the person\u2019s name followed by a comma:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Good morning Mrs. Lough,<\/li><li>Hello Mr. Holly,<\/li><li>Mrs. Korogiannis,<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear, Hello, Hi, Good morning\/afternoon\/evening, or just the person\u2019s name is acceptable. Do not use slang. Teachers are not your friends, address them appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Begin&nbsp;<strong>the body of your&nbsp;email<\/strong>&nbsp;with a general positive statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I hope you have been enjoying the nice weather.<\/li><li>I hope you had a relaxing weekend.<\/li><li>I really enjoyed what we did in class the other day.<\/li><li>Thank you for always answering my&nbsp;emails&nbsp;so promptly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The tone of your&nbsp;email&nbsp;is important<\/strong>, keep&nbsp;emails&nbsp;positive and professional. Consider your words carefully; \u201cwhen I complete the assignment\u201d sounds much better than \u201cif I complete the assignment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some general tips for&nbsp;emailing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Never send an&nbsp;email&nbsp;during times of extreme emotion<\/li><li>Never have an attitude!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Rude&nbsp;emails&nbsp;do not encourage people to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Always proofread the&nbsp;email&nbsp;for spelling and grammar.<\/li><li>If you are comfortable with the&nbsp;email&nbsp;being read out loud in court, then it\u2019s good to send.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use lead in statements<\/strong>&nbsp;to pose your question\/favor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I have a question about\u2026<\/li><li>Could you please help me with\u2026<\/li><li>Would you mind\u2026<\/li><li>This factor is giving me trouble.
