I don’t like it either but it looks like the weather has finally caught up to the calendar!
Please remember that we will be going outside as long as the REAL FEEL (or wind chill) is above 20*. We have 3 recesses a day (one in the morning, one at lunch and one in the afternoon). Children need to be able to get themselves ready so please practice!
Some things to remember:
+On snowy/wet days, please send in dry shoes for your child to wear in class. Wet boots lead to wet carpet and then wet pants. Please send in shoes for them to wear. They are welcome to keep them here and take them home on the weekend.
+Kids will be taking their shoes on/off multiple times a day so PLEASE send them in shoes and boots that they can take off and put on themselves. We simply do not have time to tie and retie shoes that many times a day.
+School rules are that in order to play in the snow, they need to have snow pants, snow boots and mittens/hats. Please be sure to send them in! We have hooks in the hall for snow pants to hang and dry. They are welcome to leave them here so they do not need to bring them everyday. I will send them home on the weekends if you want them. 🙂
+Mittens work better than gloves for little hands!
+Please LABEL all snow gear! Hats, mittens, snow pants, boots and coats. Many kids have similar items and it is easier for everyone if they are labeled. Plus, if something goes missing, I have a better chance of locating it if it has your child’s name on it.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Oh and homework tonight is to practice zipping coats! 🙂
