Dear Kindergarten Families,

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Kristie Massey and I am honored to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. I have been in teaching for 18 years.  I am married and have an 12 year old daughter.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead. Please feel free to participate in your child’s kindergarten year as much as you are able. Helping hands are always needed, whether it is reading a story to the class, helping with field trips or class parties, or any other participation will enrich our classroom experiences. Please check with the office to see how you can help!

I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send me a note or email me at masseyk1@dearbornschools.org.  You may also call the school at (313) 827-6250 to schedule an appointment to meet before or after school. Since I devote my full attention to my students, I do not conference with parents when the children are in the classroom.  I will also do my part by providing important information in phone calls, notes home, or emails to update you on what we have been doing in class as well as things that are upcoming. For individual concerns, I will contact you by phone, send a note home, write in your child’s folder, or by email.
