{"id":3337,"date":"2020-04-18T12:29:18","date_gmt":"2020-04-18T16:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/martink1\/?p=3337"},"modified":"2020-04-18T12:29:20","modified_gmt":"2020-04-18T16:29:20","slug":"at-home-learning-grading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/martink1\/2020\/04\/18\/at-home-learning-grading\/","title":{"rendered":"At Home Learning Grading"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dearborn Public Schools<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>K-12 Philosophy on Grading During School Closure 2020<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Students will engage in remediation and new learning that aligns with essential standards for the remainder of the academic school year.<\/li><li>Assignments will be graded and entered in MiStar to ensure accountability.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Teachers will continue to provide feedback to students on his\/her performance.<\/li><li>Teachers will practice flexibility based on their knowledge of the student\/family and have the ability to not count an assignment(s) for a student depending on his\/her circumstances.<\/li><li>Work completed prior to April 20th that demonstrates a student\u2019s mastery of learning will count toward his\/her grade.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elementary Grading Criteria &#8211; COVID-19 School Shutdown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For the current marking period:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students receive feedback on weekly assignments in the form of narrative comments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Meeting<\/strong>:&nbsp; regularly submitted work and attended check-ins<ul><li>Accuracy of work assessed on standards\/graded\/recorded in MiStar<\/li><li>High participation<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Progressing:&nbsp; <\/strong>Submitted most assignments and attended some of the check-ins<\/li><li><strong>Limited Participation:&nbsp; <\/strong>with one of the following explanations<ul><li>Rarely or did not submit work (may be required to attend summer school)<\/li><li>Rarely attended check-in sessions (may be required to attend summer school)<\/li><li>Family hardship during the time of instruction (summer support offered)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dearborn Public Schools K-12 Philosophy on Grading During School Closure 2020 Students will engage in remediation and new learning that aligns with essential standards for the remainder of the academic school year.
