Below you will find what we are working on for the week of January 14-18.<\/p>\n<p>Daily 5 &#8211; The book this week is There was an Old Lady who Swallowed some Snow. We will be working predicting and will also be discussing fiction vs. non-fiction.<\/p>\n<p>The sight words are: with, make, he.<\/p>\n<p>*Next week we will be starting our spelling unit. Each week we will cover a new word family and there will be a spelling test on the words at the end of each week. The list will include word family words and also sight words.<\/p>\n<p>Math &#8211; This week we are starting Module 3. This module reviews numbers to 10 and also covers measurement. The homework pages for the week are: 213, 217, 218, 221, 225, 226.<\/p>\n<p>Writing &#8211; For the month of January we will be working on informational writing. We will be learning and writing about Penguins!<\/p>\n<p>Social Studies &#8211; This week we will be discussing goods from the past and present. In addition we will be discussing goods that we get from the Earth (natural resources).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Important Dates:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Wednesday January 16th &#8211; Parent Meeting at 9:00<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Friday January 18th &#8211; 1\/2 Day Dismissal at 11:45, PTA pizza sale after school.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!
