{"id":3571,"date":"2019-02-19T14:00:39","date_gmt":"2019-02-19T19:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/maplesart\/?p=3571"},"modified":"2019-02-19T14:01:00","modified_gmt":"2019-02-19T19:01:00","slug":"michigan-youth-arts-printmaking-grant-supplies-are-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/maplesart\/2019\/02\/19\/michigan-youth-arts-printmaking-grant-supplies-are-here\/","title":{"rendered":"Michigan Youth Arts printmaking grant supplies are here!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michigan Youth Arts granted Maples Elementary art $607 worth of gelli plates, brayers and ink.\u00a0 Students have just begun to learn how to use them.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They have been experimenting with colors, layers, textures, composition, and value. \u00a0While they are working, one hears things like &#8220;look at this!&#8221; &#8220;how did you do that?&#8221; &#8220;where did that color come from?&#8221; \u00a0They are learning from each other and developing awesome problem solving skills. Even so called mistakes can be used by printing over them or saving them for a collage project another day. \u00a0These materials have added excitement to an already happy art room. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>This activity is supported by Michigan Youth Arts and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a
