For the rest of the week, we are doing a Reconstruction Webquest. This is a summative assignment to wrap up our Reconstruction unit. It is due THURSDAY! If you know you are going to be absent any of those days or when it is due, it is your responsibility to figure out how to get me the assignment. You may type your answers and email it to me, take pictures of your work and email me, or find another way. But students will not be excused for work unless they have a doctors note or have spoken to me about an issue. I have attached a copy of the assignment. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Today we will be doing a Casualty Scavenger Hunt! Students will walk around the room to 6 stations in order to learn about the numbers of soldiers that were killed and wounded throughout the Civil War.

Hello everyone. We are getting closer and closer to the end! We will be finishing up the Civil War next week and will likely have a quiz on Wednesday.
Friday we analyzed Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and discussed students’ findings on Monday.
Yesterday, after finishing up the Gettysburg Activity, students started a source analysis to learn about different aspects of life during the war. Today students are finishing up this assignment.

Monday and Tuesday we worked on and reviewed notes about the election of Abraham Lincoln and the secession of the south from the Union. Below are copies of those notes and key. Students also completed a vocabulary development activity, which is also below.

Today we compared the strengths and weaknesses of the North and South going into the war. Students created a thinking map to show the differences.

Today we are taking a quiz on what we learned about the events leading up to the Civil War. When students are done with the quiz they will begin working on a review for the Vocabulary Post-Test quiz to see all the vocabulary words they have learned this year. I have attached a copy of the Key, the review is due tomorrow.

Wednesday/Thursday: Students took notes on the Compromise of 1850 using their textbook. This is due tomorrow if it is not completed in class. They may use my key to complete it at home.
