{"id":2320,"date":"2020-03-10T09:57:27","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T13:57:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/majetic\/?p=2320"},"modified":"2020-03-10T09:57:27","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T13:57:27","slug":"this-week-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/majetic\/2020\/03\/10\/this-week-17\/","title":{"rendered":"This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Classroom Events<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Voting, Tuesday, March 10th<\/li><li>1\/2 Day Friday, March 13th<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Curriculum:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>5th Grade \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Students will continue to multiply and divide fractions.<\/li><li><strong>4th Grade \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Students will continue adding and subtracting fractions then extend fraction equivalence to fractions greater than 1.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Reading \u2013\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Students will compare and analyze accounts of the same topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Writing \u2013\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Students will continue to write comparison\/contrast essays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Social Studies:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>4th Grade<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Students will be learning about the government of the United States.<\/li><li><strong>5th Grade<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Students will be joining Mr. DeSantis\u2019 class for Social Studies this year.\u00a0 Their first unit of study will be an introduction to the Constitution and rights of citizens.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Science:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>4th Grade \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Students will finish up our unit on Sound Waves.<\/li><li><strong>5th Grade \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Students will be joining Ms. Sherlock\u2019s class for Science this year.\u00a0 Their first unit of study will be the Structure and Properties of Matter.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Spelling:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All classroom spelling lists, activities, and tests will be online this year.&nbsp; Students will be given spelling words on Monday each week and tested on Friday.&nbsp; &nbsp;Please see <a href=\"file:\/\/\/Users\/Majetic\/Downloads\/How%20to%20View%20Your%20Child's%20Grades%20in%20iLearn.pdf\">this document<\/a> to learn how to view your child&#8217;s grades.&nbsp; Students are expected to study their words at home each night.&nbsp; Here are some ideas on how to practice words with your child,&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/0ByxVs23M8tnnMDdhZjg4MDItZTdjOC00NmFmLWEwZTItYjdiMzcwN2M2OWY1\/view\">Spelling Practice Ideas<\/a><em>(please note, the directions on it do not apply).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Classroom Events Voting, Tuesday, March 10th 1\/2 Day Friday, March 13th Curriculum: Math: 5th Grade \u2013\u00a0Students will continue to multiply and divide fractions. 4th Grade \u2013\u00a0Students will continue adding and subtracting fractions then extend fraction equivalence to fractions greater than 1.
