{"id":2254,"date":"2020-01-21T10:37:34","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T15:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/majetic\/?p=2254"},"modified":"2020-01-21T10:37:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T15:37:34","slug":"this-week-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/majetic\/2020\/01\/21\/this-week-14\/","title":{"rendered":"This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Classroom Events<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>NWEA testing continues this week<\/li><li>MLK Day, No School Monday, January 20th<\/li><li>1\/2 Day Friday, January 17th, 11:45 Dismissal <\/li><li>Solar System Test, Thursday, January 30th <\/li><li>4th Grade Mid-Module Assessment, Wed., Jan. 22nd<\/li><li>5th Grade End-of-Module Assessment, Thur., Jan. 23rd <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Curriculum:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> <strong>5th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Students will have an End-of-Module Assessment on Thursday, Jan. 23rd, then work on measurement of objects to the nearest 1\/2, 1\/4, and 1\/8 of an inch.<\/li><li><strong>4th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Students will have a Mid-Module Assessment on Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, then work on decomposition and addition of adjacent angles. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Reading<\/strong><\/em>:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>5th Grade:<\/strong> Students will identify the theme of a poem using details from the author. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>4th Grade:<\/strong> Students will  determine the theme of a story using details in the text.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Writing \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em> Students are working to complete an M-Step Field Test which will provide them with invaluable experience on taking the M-Step Test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Social Studies:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>4th Grade<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013   Students are examining movement of people in the United States by examining Pushes and Pulls. <\/li><li><strong>5th Grade<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Students will be joining Mr. DeSantis\u2019 class for Social Studies this year.&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Science:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>4th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong> Students have begun &#8220;Waves of Sound&#8221;.
