Students have materials to use to study and can use Quizlet online as well.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Curriculum:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Math:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>5th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Students will multiply and divide decimals using the traditional algorithm and convert measurements using multiplication.<\/li><li><strong>4th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Students will multiply multi-digit numbers by one-digit numbers using partial products, area model, and the traditional algorithm<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Reading \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>Students will identify two or more main ideas in a text and explain how they are supported by the details in the text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Writing \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>Our first writing assignment will focus on Narrative writing.&nbsp; Students will create their own story based on a Big Top Circus theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Social Studies:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>4th Grade<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The first unit will focus on how the United States can be divided into different regions based on physical and human characteristics.<\/li><li><strong>5th Grade<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Students will be joining Mr. DeSantis\u2019 class for Social Studies this year.&nbsp; Their first unit of study will be an introduction to the Constitution and rights of citizens.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Science:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>4th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>The first unit will focus on Energy.&nbsp; Students will learn how it is transferred, converted, and related to the speed of an object.<\/li><li><strong>5th Grade \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Students will be joining Ms. Sherlock\u2019s class for Science this year.&nbsp; Their first unit of study will be the Structure and Properties of Matter.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Spelling:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All classroom spelling lists, activities, and tests will be online this year.&nbsp; Students will be given spelling words on Monday each week and tested on Friday.&nbsp; &nbsp;Please see <a href=\"file:\/\/\/Users\/Majetic\/Downloads\/How%20to%20View%20Your%20Child's%20Grades%20in%20iLearn.pdf\">this document<\/a> to learn how to view your child&#8217;s grades.&nbsp; Students are expected to study their words at home each night.&nbsp; Here are some ideas on how to practice words with your child,&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/0ByxVs23M8tnnMDdhZjg4MDItZTdjOC00NmFmLWEwZTItYjdiMzcwN2M2OWY1\/view\">Spelling Practice Ideas<\/a><em>(please note, the directions on it do not apply).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Classroom Events BRICS Bond Meeting, October 25th at 8:30 Parent Tech Meeting, October 25th at 1:40.
