So far everyone has shown good growth. I have started the higher groups on a chapter book/book study format. They have to be ready to discuss chapters and complete activities that go along with them.

Grammar

We will be expanding our vocabulary and discussing words that are synonyms(words that mean the same or close to the same thing) and antonyms(words that mean the opposite of another word).

Writing

Students are working on Opinion writing. To go along with the science curriculum, students had to pick a favorite season. Then they had to come up with 2 reasons why they like it with an example for each. Students were introduced to using “sound words” in their writing to introduce their season. As always they wrap up their story with a statement or question to the reader/audience of their story.

Math

Students are in Module 3 which deals with nonstandard measurement and data collection and reading graphs. As an extra activity, the students made up surveys to ask their classmates and one person outside the classroom. Then they made up 3 questions about their survey for others to answer.

Science

The Earth Systems test is tomorrow.
