Please have this form filled out and returned by this Thursday. Tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:45.<\/p>\n<h2>February Events<\/h2>\n<h3>2.7.18 Late Start<\/h3>\n<h3>2.7.18 Talent Show (January reward) 2:00-3:00<\/h3>\n<h3>2.13.18 100th Day of School(in class activities)<\/h3>\n<h3>2.14.18 Valentine&#8217;s Day Party (Pizza lunch + activities)<\/h3>\n<h3>2.19.18-2.23.18 Winter Break (No School)<\/h3>\n<h3>2.28.18 Curriculum Night (Math and ELA activities\/games) 5:00-6:30<\/h3>\n<h2>Curriculum Update<\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Writing: Informational- Comparing Dogs and Cats<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>The students will be writing about things that are similar in cats and dogs, and things that are different in cats and dogs.<\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #cc99ff;\">Reading: Silent e rule<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>The students will be practicing how to use the &#8220;silent e&#8221; when deciding how to pronounce a word\/the vowel sound(can, cane), instead of giving the word an extra sound.<\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Grammar: Adjectives and Verbs<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>The students will continue using adjectives to enhance their writing, and then our emphasis will be on identifying verbs.<\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Math Unit 5<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Students will be:<\/p>\n<p>*Comparing numbers, base 10 blocks , and coins using the greater than(&gt;), less than(&lt;), and equal(=) signs.<\/p>\n<p>*Completing open number sentences with the unknown in different positions (4+3=\u00a0 \u00a0 ), (8+\u00a0 \u00a0 = 15), (14=\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211; 2). This is hard for them because when they don&#8217;t know what to do they will automatically just add the 2 numbers.<\/p>\n<p>*Solving story problems using number lines and a process called &#8220;Start-Change-End<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Science &#8220;Space Systems&#8221;<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>Students will be learning about :<\/h3>\n<h3>*The seasons and the weather associated with them.<\/h3>\n<h3>*The phases of the moon.<\/h3>\n<h3>*Patterns of the sun and moon<\/h3>\n<h3>*Words describing the sun and the moon.<\/h3>\n<h3>*Months<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Social Studies Unit 2 &#8220;How Do I Get What I Need or Want?&#8221;<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>Students will be learning about:<\/h3>\n<h3>*Needs and Wants<\/h3>\n<h3>*Goods and Services<\/h3>\n<h3>*Producers and Consumers<\/h3>\n<h3>*Concept of trade<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December Students of the Month December Students of the Month Tutoring 5 students received a letter to attend tutoring.
