Remember to test is out with that &#8220;puh&#8221; sound.  Take a picture of the P items that you found and send me the picture on Class dojo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Math<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Today you are going to play Roll and Count  You will need&#8230;                                               *dice (you can use the die that I brought to your house, it has the dots to count)                                                                          *40 small items to count                                                                                                                                     *2 cups or small bowl                                                                                                                                     Set up your area to look similar to this&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.buggyandbuddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/m12.jpg\" alt=\"setting up the counting game\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Place a bowl for each of you next to the playing space, as well as a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B008C0KXYS\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B008C0KXYS&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=buggyandbuddy-20\" target=\"_blank\">die<\/a>.<\/li><li>Give each child 20 small items for counting. (We use small glass gems, but you can use just about anything- beans, buttons, pennies, etc.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Play Roll and Count<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The object of the game is to be the first person to get all your items in your bowl.The first player rolls the die and places that many of his\/her items in the bowl. Then the second player does the same thing. Play continues back and forth until one person gets all of his\/her items in the bowl!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Turn off those screens and play with some toys, color, paint\u2026 anything you can think of!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Planning Time (5 minutes):&nbsp;<\/strong>Build your child\u2019s ability to organize their time by having them make a \u201cplan\u201d with you about what they would like to play with.&nbsp; Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. Adults make plans all the time to organize their thoughts (shopping lists are made before going to the grocery store, to do lists are made to help plan your day etc..).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work Time (45-60 minutes):<\/strong>&nbsp;During work time kids play&nbsp;<strong>WITHOUT ELECTRONICS<\/strong>.&nbsp; Kids can use toys to pretend play, build, and create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clean Up (about 15 minutes):<\/strong>&nbsp; Kids clean up the mess they have made while playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recall<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Time (5 minutes):\u00a0<\/strong>Build your child\u2019s memory of events by having your child tell you what they did while they played (ask \u201ctell me how you did that\u201d or \u201cwhat did you do next?\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Story Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we are going to listen to Owen again.  This time the person reading the story is actually the author of the story.  Kevin Henkes, he wrote the book and he is going to read it to you today.  He may also give you a drawing tip.  You drew Owen yesterday.  Go get your picture.
