Correctly writing letters requires visual motor skills, grasp\/grip strength, eye-hand coordination, good posture, focus, etc.  There are many fun ways to help a child learn to form the letters of the alphabet, without picking up a pencil.  It is important to use a multi-sensory approach during the learning process.
