We are now starting the 4th marking and are halfway through the school year. This week students will be looking at where they are and where they want to be when the school year ends. In their planners (page 6 Blue section) students have written their NWEA scores ( used to find their grade level) and Lexile scores ( used to find books that they can read.) \u00a0Students can practice for the NWEA by going to the district website and click on the link for NWEA RIT practice. They can also go to www.lexile.com to look for books in their lexile range or to determine the lexile score of a book they are reading.<\/p>\n
In class we will also be finishing up Vocabulary Lesson 3 and beginning the review of the first 3 Lessons. Students will be reviewing figurative language and working on their figurative language posters.<\/p>\n
There is an opportunity for extra credit this weekend. Students can attend the Big Read on Saturday and pick up a copy of “Do You Know Poe?” to bring to class. This event is a community event and offers something for everyone! The details are below.<\/p>\n
