{"id":783,"date":"2020-01-05T17:34:20","date_gmt":"2020-01-05T22:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/kolinpreschool\/?p=783"},"modified":"2020-01-05T17:34:21","modified_gmt":"2020-01-05T22:34:21","slug":"week-of-january-6-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/kolinpreschool\/2020\/01\/05\/week-of-january-6-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of January 6- 10"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hello Families!!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Happy New Year and welcome back to school!\u00a0 I am looking forward to a wonderful 2020!\u00a0 Time seems to keep slipping right past me and I am not sure why&#8230;must be because I am getting old.\u00a0 Please make sure you are continuing to check the blog for important information in regards to what we are working on in class along with dates and reminders.  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What We Are Learning\u2026<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Names-<\/span><br>We have taken the next step and begun writing our names.\u00a0 Please continue to practice recognizing the letters in your child\u2019s name and the order in which they go (Rajaa- R-a-j-a-a).\u00a0 Remember, only the first letter in their name is a capital, all the rest are lowercase (Rajaa).<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Letters-<\/span><br>As our letter journey continues, we will learn 2 more letters this week. Students will learn to identify the letters, the sound, recognize the letter in print and write the letter on their own. Please make sure you are checking the blog for updates so you can help work with your child at home. Don\u2019t forget to practice previously learned letters.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pp= Pippa Pig<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bb- Benny Bear<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please review letters- Ll- Larry Lion, Ff- Fifi Fish, Ee- Edna Elephant, Hh- Hattie Horse, Tt- Tiggy Tiger, Ii- Iggy Iguana, Uu- Umbie Umbrella, Cc- Callie Cat, Oo- Ozzie Octopus, Qq- Queenie Queen, Gg- Gertie Goose, Ss- Sammy Seal,&nbsp;Jj- Jumping Jill,&nbsp;Dd- Dudley Duck<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shapes-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please continue to review shapes the students have been learning.&nbsp; You can look around your house, outside and in books to identify the shapes learned.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hexagon<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Star<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please review shapes- circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, diamond<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Reminders-<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather; jacket, hat, gloves\/ mittens, scarf and boots.  We will continue to go outside as the weather permits.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please make sure that you are bringing your child to school on time (8:00) and picking up on time (2:45).  Remember that preschool does not participate in late starts. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Next Thursday January 16th at 8:00 will be our monthly parent meeting.
