{"id":579,"date":"2019-10-27T12:50:05","date_gmt":"2019-10-27T16:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/kolinpreschool\/?p=579"},"modified":"2019-10-28T18:58:29","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T22:58:29","slug":"week-of-october-29-november-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/kolinpreschool\/2019\/10\/27\/week-of-october-29-november-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of October 28- November 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Hello Families!<\/h4>\n<h4>We are off to another busy and fun week here in preschool.\u00a0 We are continuing to work on our names, letters and reviewing our colors.\u00a0 We are also working on being a good friend and following the rules of the classroom.\u00a0 This week we will begin to introduce classroom jobs.\u00a0 We will have a variety of jobs in the classroom and every child will have a job which they will hold for the entire week.\u00a0 This will help children develop independence and a sense of ownership.<\/h4>\n<h4>What We Are Learning\u2026<\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Names-<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4>We are learning to recognize the letters in our name and the order the letters go in.\u00a0 Please practice on recognizing the letters in your child\u2019s name and the order in which they go (Rajaa- R-a-j-a-a).<\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Letters-\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4>We made it through our first week of letters.\u00a0 Each week that we do letters, we will focus on 2 new letters.\u00a0 Students will learn to identify the letters, the sound, recognize the letter in print and write the letter on their own.\u00a0 Please practice these letters at home with your child.<\/h4>\n<h4>Ee- Edna Elephant<\/h4>\n<h4>Hh- Hattie Horse<\/h4>\n<h4>Please review previously learned letters with your child by identifying the letters in print (on books, clothing, signs and other things found around the house), the letter sounds and how to write uppercase (capital) and lowercase letters.<\/h4>\n<h4>Ll- Larry Lion, Ff- Fifi Fish<\/h4>\n<h4>Colors-<\/h4>\n<h4>Please review colors learned by finding them in your home (on clothing, boxes, in books) or while out at the store or even playing outside (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">red<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">blue<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">yellow<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #339966;\">green<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080;\">purple<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">orange<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #4f0d0d;\">brown<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">black<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">pink<\/span>, white, <span style=\"color: #808080;\">gray<\/span>)<\/h4>\n<h4>Reminders-<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Please make sure you empty your child\u2019s folder (and backpack) for important notes and the work they do.\u00a0 Please keep those papers at home.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>Make sure your child dresses for the weather.\u00a0 We are getting into our cold mornings and cool afternoons.\u00a0 Please make sure your child has a heavy coat, hat and gloves.\u00a0 We will continue to go outside as the weather permits.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>One more thing, please have your child practice putting their coat on and zipping it up by themselves.\u00a0 We are working on building this independence at school so they can get ready for outside time on their own with minimal help.\u00a0 Thank you again for all your help and support!<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Families!
