The homework tonight involved the students counting tens and ones. We have been learning that each number has a value depending on what &#8220;place&#8221; it is in. For example, the 5 in the number 57 has a value of 50 because it is in the tens place.  I am going to send some plastic tens and ones home with some students.  If your child brings these home, please let them practice using the tens and ones to represent numbers.  <\/p>\n<p>Parent \/ Teacher Conferences:  We begin conferences next week, and the expectation at Miller is that 100% of our families meet with their child&#8217;s\/children&#8217;s teacher(s). I look very forward to this time with you because it provides an opportunity for us to discuss your child&#8217;s progress, strengths, academic goals, and growth thus far. Also, I encourage and welcome you to voice any concerns, share triumphs, and ask any questions about your child.  I sent reminder notes home today. Please return these, confirming that the time works for you. If the time is not convenient, I will reschedule your appointment. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
