Here are this week&#8217;s spelling words:<\/p>\n<p>say<br \/>\ntray<br \/>\naway<br \/>\ngray<br \/>\nmay<br \/>\nday<br \/>\nonce<br \/>\nwould<br \/>\nlive<br \/>\nopen  <\/p>\n<p>One thing we have been doing a lot lately is looking at our spelling pattern and seeing if we can find it in our books so that we learn how do apply it. For example, this week&#8217;s pattern is &#8220;ay&#8221; in most words, so they should be able to read most words with &#8220;ay&#8221; it them.<\/p>\n<p>Please continue to show your children examples of maps at home or online. We are also taking about human and physical characteristics.<br \/>\nExamples of Human characteristics: bridges, buildings, tunnels, train tracks<\/p>\n<p>Physical characteristics: hills, mountains, lakes, oceans, cliffs, forests<\/p>\n<p>In science we are talking about the importance of the sun<br \/>\n1. It warms the earth.<br \/>\n2. It gives us light.<br \/>\n3. It gives plants and people energy.<br \/>\n4.  It helps plants grow.<\/p>\n<p>In Math, we are learning about 2-D and 3-D shapes.  Look at the objects in your home. See if your child can name the shape of each object.<\/p>\n<p>Please remember to turn in permission slips (along with 10 dollars) by March 16th.<\/p>\n<p>Thank You for your continued support!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Families!
