This year is going by so fast and it&#8217;s so awesome watching your children learn and grow. Here are some things that we will be learning about in the next few weeks:<\/p>\n<p>Reading: Continue to read with your child each evening. They should be using the pictures and stretching the words when they are stuck.<\/p>\n<p>Writing: We will be writing &#8220;How-To&#8221; informational pieces such as &#8220;How to Make a Pizza,&#8221;  &#8220;How to play Tag,&#8221; etc. <\/p>\n<p>Social Studies: We will be learning how to read and make simple maps.  We will learn that places with addresses have &#8220;absolute locations.&#8221;  Additionally, we will learn the difference between human (buildings, playgrounds, racetracks, houses) and physical (trees, oceans, hills, desserts) characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>Science: We are continuing to learn about the importance of the sun, reasons for seasons, and weather.<\/p>\n<p>Math: Please continue to practice telling time (now to the quarter hour, and minute (as a challenge) and counting money.<\/p>\n<p>Here are our spelling words for the week:<br \/>\n1. fly<\/p>\n<p>2. flat<\/p>\n<p>3. flash<\/p>\n<p>4. flower<\/p>\n<p>5. place<\/p>\n<p>6. plug<\/p>\n<p>7. under<\/p>\n<p>8. of<\/p>\n<p>9. some<\/p>\n<p>10. were<\/p>\n<p>Have a fantastic week!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I cannot believe it is February!!
