I hope everyone was able to relax a little during spring break. I know this is a different type of break this year but I still hope everyone enjoyed some fun family time, some relaxation and some much needed sunshine while it was out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>REMINDER: Google Hangout at 10:00 today! This is for us to see each other and get familiar with the process of logging and connecting! It is new for ALL of us, so please be patient and I will do my best on my end to assist. I sent out student numbers via remind and their password for the account is their birthday! 2 digit month, 2 digit day and 4 digit year. Who searched for Sylvester? Where did they search for him? How did Sylvester eventually come back to his family?&nbsp;<strong>Spelling\/sight words:<\/strong>&nbsp;Write all 10 spelling words in 3 different colored pencils, markers or crayons, like a rainbow write. Also, write the sight word came today. Be sure your drawings are organized and use the 5 group strategy like in the video. Your final challenge problem is 6 \u2013 3 = 3. I want you to show in a number bond and using 5 groups. Don\u2019t forget to send me a picture of your final answer and picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Story:&nbsp;<\/strong>If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QCDPkGjMBro\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QCDPkGjMBro<\/a>&nbsp;<strong>Vocabulary words:&nbsp;<\/strong>probably, comfortable&nbsp;<strong>Writing:&nbsp;<\/strong>Why will the mouse probably ask for a straw? Why will he need it? How does he make himself comfortable in the story? Do you do that to make yourself comfortable in bed?&nbsp;<strong>Spelling\/sight words<\/strong>: Write a sentence for 5 of your spelling words. Remember to start with a capital letter, finger space between words and end with a punctuation mark.&nbsp;<strong>Math: Watch the video and complete the work in your notebook and then send me a picture.&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/embarc.online\/mod\/page\/view.php?id=9687\">https:\/\/embarc.online\/mod\/page\/view.php?id=9687<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Make sure you are making the drawings for decomposing the number 7 along with her as she does them and then write the number bonds and subtraction sentences. Why did the mouse need a boat? Do you think he enjoyed sailing in his boat? Have you ever been on a boat? Did you like it and if you haven\u2019t been on a boat, do you think you would like going on a boat?&nbsp;<strong>Spelling\/sight words:&nbsp;<\/strong>Write the other 5 spelling words in a complete sentence. What was the same? Did you see any differences? What was different? Which story did you like the best? Why did you like that one best?&nbsp;<strong>Spelling\/sight words:<\/strong>&nbsp;Do a practice spelling test with someone today. Have them say the words for you and you write them down. Then practice any words you spell incorrectly by writing it 3 times the correct way. Practice writing the word into. You don\u2019t have to draw bears, you can just draw circles if you want. Be sure you are listening to the story and listen and watch for the numbers you will need to solve the problem. You will be drawing number bonds for the number 9 and you can still use the 5 group strategy to help you when drawing your pictures. For the final challenge problem, you should listen to her story about her 9 friends going to the movies where 2 have popcorn and 7 do not yet. You will need to draw the number bond for that problem and send me a picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Story:<\/strong>&nbsp;Where do animals live? by Pat Murphy \u2013&nbsp;<strong>You will need an adult or older sibling to help you read this book. Tell me 2 \u2013 3 things that you learned about that animal from the book? What else did you learn?&nbsp;<strong>Spelling\/sight words:&nbsp;<\/strong>Practice writing the sight word ride. Write a sentence about something you ride on and draw a picture to go with your sentence. We will do our spelling test online today!&nbsp;<strong>Math:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Watch the video and complete the work in your notebook and then send me a picture.<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/embarc.online\/mod\/page\/view.php?id=9690\">https:\/\/embarc.online\/mod\/page\/view.php?id=9690<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Make sure you watch the video and listen to the different stories she tells and while you listen draw the pictures like she does. You will need 2 different colored dry erase markers or crayons depending on where you are completing your work. Write the subtraction sentences after you finish drawing the pictures. For the final challenge problem, you are breaking up the 9 blocks however you like and then make up a story to go along with how you broke it up whether it be 7 and 2 or 5 and 4 or 6 and 3. Write your story under your drawing.
