{"id":185,"date":"2018-12-14T08:52:03","date_gmt":"2018-12-14T13:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/khzouza\/?p=185"},"modified":"2018-12-14T08:52:03","modified_gmt":"2018-12-14T13:52:03","slug":"december-week-2-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/khzouza\/2018\/12\/14\/december-week-2-update\/","title":{"rendered":"December Week 2 Update!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Hornets!<\/p>\n<p>This week was all about the Law of Conservation of Matter\/Mass.\u00a0 Students were given a packet on this law with examples that we have looked closely at.\u00a0 Students learned that matter is neither created nor destroyed during physical and chemical reactions.\u00a0 We spent this entire week learning about the law and using 3 examples to prove the law.\u00a0 We have spent this week examining the atoms, elements, mass (grams), reactants, and products of balanced chemical equations to prove that matter has been conserved.\u00a0 After we have completed the 3 examples in our packet, we are then starting to write the CER (Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning) of this law.\u00a0 Students were given a claim about the\u00a0Law of Conservation of Matter\/Mass and the 3 examples served as the evidence portion.\u00a0 We are spending time this week and next writing the first draft of the reasoning.\u00a0 Once students are done with their drafts we will be editing any mistakes to it.\u00a0 After the final draft is complete students will be publishing their CER paper.\u00a0 We will be typing this paper up next week in class.\u00a0 For students who do not finish will have to finish typing it up to be turned in the first day back to school after break (January 7, 2019).<\/p>\n<p>Friday we took our first bellwork quiz for this new unit (Matter and Its Interactions Part 2).\u00a0 As a reminder students should be doing bellwork everyday as well as making corrections to their answers and reviewing at home for our quizzes.<\/p>\n<p>One more week until Christmas break!(:<\/p>\n<p>Have a wonderful weekend!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Hornets!
