{"id":172,"date":"2018-11-30T15:36:26","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T20:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/khzouza\/?p=172"},"modified":"2018-11-30T15:36:26","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T20:36:26","slug":"november-week-4-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/khzouza\/2018\/11\/30\/november-week-4-update\/","title":{"rendered":"November Week 4 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Hornets!<\/p>\n<p>Monday-Tuesday we finished up our unit on Matter and Its Interactions part 1.\u00a0 Monday we played jeopardy in class to review for the unit test.\u00a0 Tuesday we took the unit test.\u00a0 The test consisted of 35 questions and was worth 35 summative points.\u00a0 Some students got extra credit due to the jeopardy game.\u00a0 Grades are posted in student connect for you to view.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday-Thursday we began our unit on Matter and Its Interactions part 2.\u00a0 We began this unit by exploring chemical and physical changes.\u00a0 We did a lab on electrolysis where we used a battery, wires, and pencils to separate the elements in the compound water H2O.\u00a0 Students realized that after we used electricity to separate the elements we ended up with 2 gases: hydrogen (H2) and Oxygen (O2).\u00a0 Then we completed an exit ticket on the lab where we summarized what we learned by using the vocabulary words: electrolysis, water, compound, hydrogen, oxygen.<\/p>\n<p>Friday-We worked on page 14a and 14b of our ISN.\u00a0 14a we read an interactive reading about physical and chemical changes.\u00a0 On page 14b we did a venn diagram about the similarities and differences of physical and chemical changes.\u00a0 We also listed examples for each type of change of matter.\u00a0 Pages 14a and 14b are homework if students do not finish and will be due Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Have a wonderful weekend!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Hornets!
