Check out the dates to remember section below to see all the things we have going on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kindness &#8211; <\/strong>Our new character trait of the month is kindness.  This is a perfect trait for us this month!  We could use some extra kindness in our classroom this month.  Please remind your student about the importance of being kind!  I&#8217;ll be watching everyone this month and we will be picking a student to get the kindness award at the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dates to Remember:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/7 &#8211; Serena<\/strong> is still star of the week because of the short week last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/8 1st Math Test<\/strong>&#8211; here is the study guide and answers, I will pass these out and we will work on these in class on Monday, test is Tuesday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1rKKy4MMncoSJ7P5n9GiT7UdTMoZri0-e\/view?usp=sharing\">Module 1 Study Guide<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1SOb0WajfOwFv4vNfBn2WsfW0lID4yVso\/view?usp=sharing\">Module 1 Study Guide Answers<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/10 Pistons Assembly <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday, October 10th, 2024 The Detroit&nbsp;Pistons&nbsp;will host a SEL assembly for all at 1:30pm in the school gym. They did a great SEL lesson, with a lot of fun activities, and gave away prizes. After the&nbsp;assembly&nbsp;at my last school, I made a highlight reel, if anyone wants to see what to expect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Detroit Pistons at Quest\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vshE8opeeoc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a great incentive for the students because\u00a0they will also give me game tickets for students and families to attend one of their games. This assembly program rewards our students with time out of the classroom. The assembly includes a visit from Hooper, a\u00a0Pistons\u00a0Youth Coach, teacher vs. student competitions, prize giveaways, and character-building messaging.\u00a0 Ms. Sparkle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/10 &#8211; Madalyn visit <\/strong>&#8211; we will have a high school student visit our room to decide if she wants to be a teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/13 Wyatt Star of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/20 Isabella Star of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/22 &#8211; Fire Safety talk <\/strong>&#8211;  a firefighter will visit our classroom and talk about fire safety.  This is in preparation for a field trip to the Dearborn Smoke House on November 4th where 3rd graders learn what to do if there is a fire in their house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/23 Last Day<\/strong> to turn in all assignments &#8211; marking period ends on 10\/25 this will be a 1\/2 day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10\/28 &#8211; Picture day<\/strong> &#8211; put on your best outfit and your best smile!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Academics <\/strong>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Math <\/strong>&#8211; Monday &#8211; Lesson 23 Tuesday Module 1 test &#8211; see study guide above, Wednesday &#8211; Module 2 Lesson 1, Thursday Lesson 2, Friday Lesson 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ELA <\/strong>&#8211; <strong>CLICK HERE FOR YOUR SPELLING WORDS:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1MiBOuJAMUYs-tmo37XAxdAmuHHDbifPW\/view?usp=drive_link\">Unit 2 Week 1<\/a> &#8211; Spelling &#8211; Long E, Grammar &#8211; Adjective and Adverbs\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1mig7o0TixFKOWvQr6JGE6HG7gp96BFhl\/view?usp=sharing\">Spelling Practice<\/a> , I have included an optional spelling practice for those who need extra work on their spelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science &#8211; Force and Motion<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social Studies &#8211; Government<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reminder <\/strong>&#8211; I run the Robotics club on Mondays and the Green Team on Wednesdays after school for the 4th and 5th graders, if you need to talk to me about anything on those days, please send me an email at keeblek@dearbornschools.org.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, we have a busy month coming up!
