Star of the Week – Ana <\/strong>will continue to be Star of the Week next week and will bring her sharing, favorite book, and a letter about what makes her amazing from her family. Arlo will be Star of the Week starting on December 19th. <\/strong>He will prepare his poster, and sharing, book and letter for that week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recorders and Yearbook order forms<\/strong> went home on Friday 12\/9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

December 14<\/strong> – Picture Retake day – if you want the pictures retaken – please return the unwanted pictures with directions on how you would like the new pictures to be taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holiday Spirit Week – December 19-23 <\/strong>We will have an all school\u00a0Holiday Spirit Week<\/a>, December 19 – 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pen pals update<\/strong> – We have been enjoying writing letters back and forth to our pen pals. Monday we had a fun treat of meeting our pen pals on Zoom and playing a science game together online. Everyone was very excited to see each other and enjoyed the game!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ELA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be working on Benchmark Unit 4 Week 2 – Students will be reading the stories and completing page 19 in the Benchmark magazine. The Spelling words this week all end in -le. Here is a link to the spelling words,<\/a> remember they can always be found on Schoology\/ELA\/Spelling folder. Students will be completing the Grammar and Spelling Pamphlet<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writing <\/strong>– We will continue working on our Autobiography of a Snowman Unit<\/a>. Last week, we completed the interview, alliteration, idioms, and onamonapias. This week we will work on similes, narrator’s point of view, writing in the 1st person, and our story map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science <\/strong>– We started our new unit – Power of Flowers with our Anchor Phenomenon last week. We will continue with Mystery 1 Exploration on Monday and Activity on Tuesday. Mystery 2 – Exploration on Wednesday and Activity on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Homework <\/strong>– Each night students should study their spelling words and math facts, finish math homework, read and IXL – Practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gingerbread House donations and Party<\/strong> 12\/19- thanks for all the gingerbread house donations, if you have not send them in please send them ASAP so that I can see what is missing. Gingerbread house party is 12\/19 at 2:00. If you are helping to set up please arrive by 1:15 so that we can prepare a separate plate for each student. I’m a little worried about being short on white frosting, students often will use almost 1\/2 a can each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book Reveal Party <\/strong>– The BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED – students are very eager to see them! We will have our book reveal party on Monday 12\/19 at 3:15 after the Gingerbread house party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
