Now, there\u2019s a bigger dilemma: When are they ready for social media? By the time they hit middle school \u2014 if not before \u2014 kids are lobbying to be able to interact with their friends on SnapChat, Instagram, and TikTok. They feel left out if other kids are allowed to have access to social media and they\u2019re not. But there\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.childmind.org\/e\/908232\/nt-social-media-and-self-doubt\/3hvvb8\/1096364590?h=-bTvDQc8ZwuJVJTemgLEmi2ZbetCecYrmZpg__4FpM8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">potential for serious harm<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;if kids aren\u2019t mature enough to make good decisions about what to share, who to share it with, and how to handle negative feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help with those decisions, we\u2019ve checked in with experts about how to know&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.childmind.org\/e\/908232\/hould-you-get-your-kid-a-phone\/3hvvbc\/1096364590?h=-bTvDQc8ZwuJVJTemgLEmi2ZbetCecYrmZpg__4FpM8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>when kids are ready for a phone<\/strong><\/a>, what kind of a starter phone might be appropriate for young kids, and how to provide parental controls when kids aren\u2019t ready for unfettered access to apps and the internet. We will continue to work on our animal adaptation reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Math &#8211; We are continuing Unit 2 and should be doing Lessons 8-11 and finish with a Mid-Module Assessment on Friday.
