Library Books are all due<\/strong> – we had our last check out last week.\u00a0 All books are due by Tuesday 5\/21.<\/p>\n

Book bags and books due<\/strong> – all book bags and books are due by Wednesday 5\/22.\u00a0 There will be a\u00a0 $5 charge for each book bag or book that is not returned.<\/p>\n

Cultural Play lines<\/strong> – were passed out today.\u00a0 Please have your child practice each day.\u00a0 We would like to have the memorized by the day of the performance on 6\/7.<\/p>\n

African Research report and Google slides –<\/strong> We have been working on our African Research report for about a week.\u00a0 Students should be finishing the notes and starting to write their draft.\u00a0 Notes are due by Monday 5\/20 and the first draft of the report will be due by next Thursday 5\/23.\u00a0 Please ask your student to show you their notes and first draft on Google Classroom.\u00a0 If they are not finished with the notes then it is homework.\u00a0 Next week the report will become homework if they don’t finish it in class.<\/p>\n

No School<\/strong> – May 24th – 27th<\/p>\n

Costume for the cultural play<\/strong> – due by Monday 5\/20 – see below for details.<\/p>\n

We will be making our own shirts to wear in the cultural play using glue and dye. \u00a0The final product will look something like this:<\/p>\n

Please contribute $1.00 per student to buy dye for the class.<\/p>\n

Students should provide a plain white T-shirt and a bottle of liquid glue. \u00a0The shirt should be large and loose-fitting, so buy one that is a few sizes too big.<\/p>\n

You can find both of these things at most craft stores such as Michael\u2019s or JOANN.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Both boys and girls should wear plain black shorts or pants with no stripes, logos, or writing.<\/p>\n

Girls should wear a BROWN grass skirt with no flowers. \u00a0We will be making these in class out of paper bags, but you can also buy one if you choose.<\/p>\n
