Brainstormers Take off Show Assembly<\/strong>– We had a wonderful writing assembly on Tuesday.\u00a0 The Brainstormers came in and performed several types of writing created by the audience.\u00a0 The children got to help create the stories and perform them on stage with the other actors.\u00a0 The students will be writing their own stories based on what we learned on Tuesday and we will be sending them in to Brainstormers.\u00a0 \u00a0They will pick several of the student’s stories to perform on stage.\u00a0 If they are chosen they get to sit in the special author’s chair on stage, to watch their story being performed.\u00a0 They can continue to write their Brianstormer\u00a0 story over break if they have time.<\/p>\n

Week 12 Spelling<\/strong> – is now open if student would like to start studying the words.\u00a0 The week 12 spelling test will be on November 30th<\/p>\n

Week 12 reading log<\/strong> – is now open.\u00a0 The reading log is due November 28th.<\/p>\n

Native American Research report draft<\/strong> – On Monday we begin our Native American Research report rough draft.\u00a0 We will be working with the district Technology Coach to write our rough draft in iLearn.\u00a0 The students will then learn how to do Peer editing and give anonymous actionable feedback to their peer using iLearn.<\/p>\n

Native American notes<\/strong>– Student should be finished with their Native American research notes.\u00a0 There are several students who are not quite finished.\u00a0 Please have them log in to Google Classroom and show you their notes.\u00a0 They should have taken notes from 3 different websites or books, they should have at least 3 subtopics and minimum of 5 details under each topic.\u00a0 These must be complete by Monday so we can all begin our rough draft.<\/p>\n

Native American outline<\/strong>-This should also be finished.\u00a0 Please have your student show it to you.\u00a0 This is done after their notes are complete .\u00a0 They need to type a sentence or two in each section of the outline.\u00a0 This must be complete by Monday so that we can begin our draft.<\/p>\n

Native American project and poster board<\/strong> – Student will be completing a poster board and project at home to go along with their Native\u00a0 American research report.\u00a0 The should have begun thinking about what they will create and start gathering pictures to use on their board.\u00a0 I suggest they have some sort of interactive board or game for their audience to make it interesting.\u00a0 Creating an artifact for their audience would also be wonderful.\u00a0 \u00a0See the assignment guidelines here.<\/p>\n
