1\/2 day tomorrow<\/strong> – this is another reminder that we have a 1\/2 day tomorrow.\u00a0 You should have gotten a Class Dojo reminder also.<\/p>\n

Math Homework<\/strong> – We will have math homework on most days.\u00a0 I already have several students who are missing some or all of the math homework or class papers.\u00a0 Please check with your student each night to make sure they complete any papers in their folders.<\/p>\n

Parent Connect<\/strong> – if you not sure if you student is missing paper please check parent connect.\u00a0 You should check this at least once a week.\u00a0 Thursday night is a great day to check, because I give rewards to all students who have completed all work by Friday.<\/p>\n

Yasmeen is our Star of the Week<\/strong> starting on Monday.\u00a0 Check the blog for a list of things to do for Star of the Week.<\/p>\n

Firefighter<\/strong> – next Thursday there will be a firefighter visiting our classroom to talk about fire safety and our visit to the Smoke House.\u00a0 All 3rd grader in Dearborn go to the Dearborn Smoke House to learn more about fire safety.\u00a0 Our Smoke House field trip is October 4th at 12:30.\u00a0 Permission slips will go home soon.<\/p>\n

Chaperones and Volunteers<\/strong> – Please make sure that you have all your paperwork turned into the office if you plan to chaperone or volunteer in the classroom or at school this year.\u00a0 It take 1-2 weeks to get the paperwork back so please take care of it right away if you would like to join us at the Dearborn Smoke House on October 4th.<\/p>\n

WIDA test results –<\/strong> went home with any students that took this test last spring.\u00a0 If you have any questions about your child’s test results please email me and I will forward it to someone who can help you.<\/p>\n

Book – it Pizza Hut program<\/strong> – Students will be getting calendars to record the number of minutes they read each day.\u00a0 We recommend 20 minutes of reading a day.\u00a0 They need to turn this in at the end of each month.\u00a0 They will get a coupon for FREE pizza for everyone they turn in.\u00a0 This is required assignment not optional.<\/p>\n

Reading Log –<\/strong> We will also be doing an online reading log this year.\u00a0 It will be on Google classroom.\u00a0 Students need to fill in 5 entries per week about the books that they read.\u00a0 \u00a0It will be labeled by the same week at the spelling week.<\/p>\n

Spelling tests<\/strong> – We will be taking the Week 2 spelling test tomorrow.\u00a0 If you look on Parent Connect and notice that the Week 1 spelling test is missing, there are a few students who did not hit the submit button on last week’s spelling test.\u00a0 They can do this from home tonight or I will remind them to do it tomorrow during our Week 2 test.<\/p>\n
