Ali B. Star of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

Halloween Clothes & Celebration<\/strong>– We will be having a regular school day on Tuesday, October 31 from 1:35-2:20<\/span><\/span>. Upper elementary students, grades three, four and five, are not wearing costumes.\u00a0 These students can wear Halloween colors or shirts, if they want.<\/p>\n

Our celebration for Halloween will be in the afternoon at the gym.\u00a0 Mr. Borg could use some helpers and I’m not sure about supplies.\u00a0 If you can help, please email him at\u00a0borgj@dearbornschools.org<\/span><\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0 Helpers should arrive at 12:20.<\/p>\n

End of Marking Period is coming soon<\/strong> – There will be a 1\/2 day on 11\/3 the end of the marking period.\u00a0 All old missing assignments are due by Wednesday 11\/1.\u00a0 I will start adding zeros where there are missing assignments, so that you are aware of what the grade will be without the missing work.<\/p>\n

FALL FESTIVAL (sponsored by Howe PTA) <\/strong>Friday October 27th<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u2013\u00a06:00pm-7:30pm<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Let\u2019s celebrate the fall season & Halloween holiday with an awesome party at Howe School!\u00a0 We\u2019ll be taking over the cafeteria and the interior courtyard with Halloween games & activities, a craft table, a picture backdrop area for photos, and even a haunted tent!\u00a0 Candy will be handed out at each game station, and PTA will provide free cider & donuts!\u00a0 All kids are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costumes!<\/div>\n

This year we will also offer a concession stand with pizza, popcorn, water, & desserts for purchase!\u00a0 The party begins at\u00a06:00pm<\/span><\/span>, so if you don\u2019t have time to give the kids dinner, you can get them some dinner here at the party!<\/div>\n

We\u2019ll also be having a Jack O\u2019 Lantern contest!\u00a0 Bring in your best carved pumpkin, and we\u2019ll light it up outside, assign it a number, and have the students vote on their favorite!\u00a0 The winner of the contest will go home with a pumpkin pie!<\/div>\n

In order to make this event a success, we will need a LOT of parent volunteers and helpers!\u00a0 Your child brought home a flier for the party.\u00a0 At the bottom of the flier is a list of sign-ups, including participating in the Jack O\u2019 Lantern contest, helping at the concessions tables, running the craft table, and running a game outside for the kids!\u00a0 The more helpers we have, the more fun the kids have!\u00a0 Please consider donating your time and fill out a volunteer spot!<\/div>\n

Cost is $3.00\/child \u2013 this will help cover the cost of candy & supplies needed to make this event spectacular!<\/div>\n

We also need the following supplies donated from willing parents:<\/div>\n
\u2013 3 packages of toilet paper (can be super cheap, 6 pack)<\/div>\n
\u2013 5 packages of fake spider webs (can be found at Target, Meijer, or craft stores)<\/div>\n
**These items can be dropped off to the main office at any time before the party.\u00a0 If you can donate one or more item, we would greatly appreciate it.<\/div>\n

Box Tops –<\/strong> Are due this week.\u00a0 The class with the most box tops earns a pizza party.\u00a0 Make sure the box tops a properly labeled with your child’s name and the teacher’s name.\u00a0 Help our class earn a Pizza Celebration.<\/p>\n

My Health<\/strong> – I developed a hernia when I was in Europe carrying my heavy suitcase.\u00a0 I will be sitting more than usually to help avoid the pain. I feel fine if I am sitting or not standing too long.\u00a0 I will be having surgery on December 26th.\u00a0 I may miss a few days of school in January depending on how quickly I heal.\u00a0 Thank you for your support and understanding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
