{"id":4711,"date":"2017-09-30T14:10:03","date_gmt":"2017-09-30T18:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/?p=4711"},"modified":"2017-09-30T14:10:03","modified_gmt":"2017-09-30T18:10:03","slug":"class-news-89","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/2017\/09\/30\/class-news-89\/","title":{"rendered":"Class News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Fire Safety talk and Fire house permission slip &#8211;<\/strong> On Friday I sent home the permission slip for the Fire Safety House field trip on October 19th.\u00a0 If you are interested in chaperoning make sure you have completed your paper work in the office.\u00a0 This week a Wednesday a firefighter will come to our classroom and talk to the students about the trip and fire safety.\u00a0 The trip helps students to know what they should and shouldn&#8217;t do if you have a fire in your home or at school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Book bag and contract<\/strong> &#8211; Your child&#8217;s book bag and book bag contract were sent home on Friday.\u00a0 Please sign and return the contract.\u00a0 Please have your child read the book and use it to complete one of the sections on the reading log.\u00a0\u00a0 Please return the book bag on Thursday.\u00a0 There will be a charge for lost or damaged books and bags.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blue shirt Day<\/strong> &#8211; Monday is Blue Shirt Day &#8211; have your student wear a blue shirt to show they will stand up to bullies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zane is Star of the Week<\/strong> &#8211; Please see the Star of the Week tab for more details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curriculum<\/strong> &#8211; In class this week we will be working on : Science &#8211; Building bridges,\u00a0 Social studies- we are talking about land and water forms, there will be a <strong>Land and Water forms quiz on Friday.\u00a0 Study guide will go home Wednesday<\/strong>. Math &#8211; graphs, study guide will go home on Monday for a <strong>Unit 1 Math test on Thursday 10\/5<\/strong>. ELA &#8211; finishing our essay on standing up for what you believe in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marks on papers<\/strong> &#8211; I wanted to explain the marks on papers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every student should have their number in the upper right hand corner.<\/li>\n<li>A left handed check in the right corner means that it has been recorded in my gradebook.\u00a0 If you get a paper without a check then you should send it back to school.<\/li>\n<li>A number with a circle is your child&#8217;s grade on that paper.\u00a0 1=100-95%\u00a0 2=94-80%\u00a0 3=79-70%\u00a0 4=69-0%.\u00a0 If your child gets less than 80% on an assignment, I will ask them to redo the assignment.\u00a0 I will give them most of their points back if they redo the paper and get them all right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Extra Recess<\/strong> &#8211; 15 students earned their extra recess by completing all of their work.\u00a0 You can see their picture on Class Dojo.\u00a0 Congratulations to student number: 1, 2, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23<\/p>\n<p><strong>Missing Assignments<\/strong> &#8211; There were quite a few students with missing assignments this week.\u00a0 Please check the back of their red folder for their missing assignment sheet or check Parent Connect.\u00a0 If you have any questions about what is missing let me know.\u00a0\u00a0 I generally don&#8217;t like to reprint papers they should try to find the papers they were given the first time.\u00a0 Or you may print it again at home.\u00a0 Most assignments are attached to my lesson plans which are on my blog.\u00a0 <strong>The following students still have missing assignments: 3, 4, 6, 8, 13, 16, 17<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please help them to find and complete all missing work so they can have extra recess next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Popcorn reward<\/strong> &#8211; this is given out each week to students who have 80% or better behavior on Class Dojo.\u00a0 If your student isn&#8217;t getting popcorn please review with them the things they need to do to earn popcorn next week.\u00a0 Class Dojo tells you what they were doing when they lost a Class Dojo point.\u00a0 There is a picture of everyone who got popcorn on Class Dojo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communication &#8211;<\/strong> I&#8217;m always happy to answer questions.\u00a0 Here is the best way to reach me:<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Email<\/strong> -just a reminder the very best way to communicate with me is through email I am to check this a couple times a day.\u00a0 I will not be able to see email while I am teaching so I will not usually see email sent in the middle of the day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Class Dojo<\/strong> &#8211; The second best way to communicate is Class Dojo.\u00a0 I have this open all day and will often see messages sent during the day.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t usually have it open after school so it is not a good way to communicate something after school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not the Blog<\/strong> &#8211;
