Summer Birthdays<\/strong> -I like to celebrate the summer birthdays on the last day of school.\u00a0 If your student\u00a0 has a birthday during the summer, feel free to bring in a treat to celebrate.\u00a0 It does not have to be sweets, it can be chips or something else.\u00a0 Please just make it easy to pass out to students. I’m sorry for the late notice, but I have bronchitis and have not been feeling well for the last 10 days or so, so I forgot.<\/p>\n

Thank yous<\/strong> – I would like to thank all the parents that have helped our class this year.\u00a0 I would like to especially thank Celine’s mom for helping us every Friday with extra recess and Zahraa S. mom for helping every Friday with spelling tests and book bags.\u00a0 Zahraa’s mom also helped us the last couple of week to watch the students that are fasting.\u00a0 I really appreciate everything that the parents do for us.\u00a0 You guys are wonderful!<\/p>\n

Last day<\/strong> – Today is our last day.\u00a0 It is a 1\/2 day with dismissal at 11:45.\u00a0 Report cards will be passed out today.\u00a0 It is alsot the 5th grade graduation ceremony.<\/p>\n

Typing<\/strong> – I challenged my class to learn how to type this summer.\u00a0 This is an important skill for 3rd\/4th grade students to know coming into the school year.\u00a0 they have more expectations to be able to type several paragraphs.\u00a0 Typing is a key skill for being able to do this.<\/p>\n

Summer Learning<\/strong> – don’t forget that students need to continue to use their brains all summer.\u00a0 Field trips to interesting places are wonderful for summer learning, the public library has many wonderful summer programs and we have sent several lists of online resources to continue learning all summer.<\/p>\n

Have a wonderful, restful summer<\/strong> – I hope everyone enjoys their vacation time.\u00a0 Please keep in touch and share pictures.\u00a0 This has been a wonderful group!\u00a0 I will miss everyone!<\/p>\n
