{"id":4444,"date":"2017-02-05T09:45:09","date_gmt":"2017-02-05T14:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/?p=4444"},"modified":"2017-02-05T09:48:32","modified_gmt":"2017-02-05T14:48:32","slug":"class-news-66","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/2017\/02\/05\/class-news-66\/","title":{"rendered":"Class News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Star of the Week<\/strong> &#8211; Ryan<\/p>\n<p><strong>Field Trip and Chaperoning<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 On Wednesday 2\/8 we will be going to the Cranbrook Institute of Science.\u00a0 If you are planning on chaperoning please make sure that you have your chaperoning paper work complete in the office by Monday or you will not be able to attend.\u00a0 Make sure that your students and chaperones have a sack lunch.\u00a0 There is a cafe but they have long lines at lunch time and we have a short time to eat, so please bring your lunch.\u00a0 Chaperones will be watching a few students besides their own, they will be responsible for making sure that students follow the rules of the museum.\u00a0 It is important to not bring any other children or talk on the phone while chaperoning so that you can help supervise.\u00a0 Thank you for your cooperation.\u00a0 If you are not chaperoning and you would like your student with a certain parent, please email or send me a note by Monday, I will do my best to accommodate all requests.\u00a0\u00a0 Parent should check into with the teacher so she know that you are here, then office and then wait in the cafeteria.\u00a0 We will be leaving as soon as the bus arrives, hopefully by 9 AM.\u00a0 It should be a wonderful trip!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report Cards<\/strong> &#8211; Report cards went home with the students on Friday.\u00a0 Please sign the envelope and return the envelope only.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NWEA report<\/strong>&#8211; Inside the report you will also have your new scores for the NWEA testing.\u00a0\u00a0 We will be having a reward party for all students who went up 5 points or more on at least one test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2nd Grade NWEA<\/strong>&#8211; There were 5 students who did well on their previous NWEA and were raised to the same test the the 3rd graders take.\u00a0 Congratulations to Celine, Alecia, Javier, Ryan,\u00a0 and Micah!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grade Equivalent and RIT<\/strong> -Below you will find the NWEA RIT score grade equivalent chart.\u00a0 This chart allows you to compare your child&#8217;s RIT score the Dearborn Public Schools Grade Equivalent.\u00a0 January when the test was given is the 5th month of school so your child should be at 2.5 for 2nd or 3.5 for 3rd.\u00a0\u00a0 So the target scores or grade equivalent for 2nd grade were 190 for Math and 189 for Language, for 3rd grade 203 for Math, 201 for Reading.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Moby Max can help increase their scores.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/210\/2017\/02\/NWEA-RIT-Grade-Equivalent-Conversion-Tables-2015-Norms-Study.xlsx\">NWEA RIT-Grade Equivalent Conversion Tables 2015 Norms Study<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Moby Max Homework &#8211; Moby Max can help increase your students NWEA scores &#8211; Moby Max says some students can go up an entire grade level in a month!
