I wanted to thank everyone for all the well wishes and presents during the last week of school.\u00a0 This was a very sweet and thoughtful class.\u00a0 I will miss everyone who is moving up or moving away.\u00a0\u00a0 I hope everyone is enjoying their first few days of summer.<\/p>\n

I would like to stress the importance of summer learning.\u00a0 Attached is a video link explaining why it is so important for students to continue to use their brains during the summer.\u00a0 If they don’t their is a significant loss in the reading abilities and cognitive skills that will cause them to fall behind their peers and is difficult to catch up again.\u00a0 Please watch this 2 minute visual of what can happen if students don’t continue to learn.<\/p>\n

My blog has many learning opportunities.\u00a0 There is Moby Max, Front Row, Study Island, an interactive science section.\u00a0 The students know how to log in to all of the programs.\u00a0 If they have trouble the log in information is on the blog or email me and I will try to help. \u00a0 They can write stories, letters or postcards.\u00a0 I would love to see their stories or letters!\u00a0\u00a0 Send them to me via Google Docs or my email.\u00a0 Take trips to the museums or science centers.\u00a0 Most public libraries have a summer reading program with activities and prizes for reading.\u00a0 Get out there and have fun and keep those brains moving!!!<\/div>\n
