{"id":4046,"date":"2016-05-07T13:19:44","date_gmt":"2016-05-07T17:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/?p=4046"},"modified":"2016-05-07T13:19:44","modified_gmt":"2016-05-07T17:19:44","slug":"class-news-33","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/2016\/05\/07\/class-news-33\/","title":{"rendered":"Class News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Teacher Appreciation Week<\/strong> &#8211; Wow, what an amazing week!\u00a0 Thank you to all the parents and children for all the wonderful cards, pictures, the staff luncheon and all the wonderful presents!\u00a0\u00a0 I really feel very appreciated and enjoyed my week thoroughly!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Standardized testing<\/strong> &#8211; We are finally done with all our standardized testing(M-STEP and NWEA)!\u00a0 Things will be back to normal for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3rd Grade Math Test<\/strong> &#8211; The study guide went home Thursday.\u00a0 Please go over it with your child to make sure they are ready for Monday&#8217;s test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Grade Math<\/strong> \u2013 Students finishing up unit 9, Measurement, and the test will be on Tuesday.\u00a0 We will review on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong> \u2013 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Graders are testing on Thursday, May 12.\u00a0 We have been learning and reviewing the growth of Michigan.\u00a0 The test information is on the Social Studies page of the blog.\u00a0 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Graders are learning how a citizen can affect a community.\u00a0 Students are learning about public issues and what they can do as citizens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I hope everyone enjoys your Mother&#8217;s Day!\u00a0<\/strong> The students all worked hard on writing poetry for Mom and you should all have received you sunflower.\u00a0 They grow to be 12 feet tall so plan accordingly when planting them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultural Play<\/strong> &#8211; Each year our school puts on a big cultural night at the end of the year.\u00a0 This year we are going to be studying Ancient Inca, Mayan and Aztec people.\u00a0 Students will be memorizing lines, and performing on stage.\u00a0 We are hoping to 100% attendance and are counting on everyone to do their part in the performance.\u00a0 The students and parents have always enjoyed these nights.\u00a0 We have the performance and then share food together.\u00a0 Please let me know as soon as possible if your student will be unable to attend for some reason and I will plan accordingly with the line assignments.\u00a0 The date of our performance is June 9th in the evening.\u00a0 I will post the exact times in the near future.\u00a0 Within the next few weeks I will be sending information about costumes and lines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Teacher Appreciation Week &#8211; Wow, what an amazing week!\u00a0 Thank you to all the parents and children for all the wonderful cards, pictures, the staff luncheon and all the wonderful presents!\u00a0\u00a0 I really feel very appreciated and enjoyed my week thoroughly!
