We started typing a story into the computer to publish it and I realized that most of the students don&#8217;t know how to type.\u00a0 This is a skill that they will need and could use some practice with.\u00a0 The librarian suggested this website for practicing typing: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.typing.com\/student\/lessons\/359\/j-f-and-space\">Typing Practice Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Awards &#8211; <\/strong>Today at our PBIS Assembly the following students received awards.\u00a0 Ali&#8217;s is posted on the classroom door for the month.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Congratulations to Ali Badaoui.\u00a0 He is our new student of the month.\u00a0 To become student of the month you need to be up to date on your work and have good behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Congratulations to Zahraa Alsaghir..\u00a0 She received the Most Improved award.<\/li>\n<li>Congratulations to Hassan Dakroub.\u00a0 He received the Best Hall Behavior award.<\/li>\n<li>Congratulations to Hayley Burt.\u00a0 She received the award for Working without Disturbing others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Holiday Shop<\/strong> &#8211; Next week the students will have the opportunity to do holiday shopping for their family members.\u00a0 We will have a preview day on 12\/8 and the students will shop and bring home their gifts on 12\/9.\u00a0 There will be a flyer on Monday with more details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MyOn Book Review<\/strong> &#8211; I have started assigning a MyOn Book Review for the students each week.\u00a0 This is assignment is completed online after the students have finished reading a book on MyOn.\u00a0 The need to write 3 sentences with the following sentences starters:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I like\/dislike this book because&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>I liked\/disliked it when&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>I would recommend\u00a0 this book to someone who likes&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>MyOn Earth Science Project<\/strong>-The MyOn review is different from the MyOn Earth Science Project.\u00a0 <strong>I still have quite a few students who have not completed their project<\/strong> during the class time provided.\u00a0 It will now need to be completed at home.\u00a0 Some people completed some work in the journal but did not transfer it to the Essay Writer section.\u00a0<strong> If the writing is not in the Essay Writer section then I can not see it.\u00a0 <\/strong>This is<strong> NOT <\/strong>a summary of what they have read.\u00a0 They need to find 5 earth materials in the books that they are assigned (they must read 3 for all the points).\u00a0 They must tell 5 ways people use the earth materials, 1 way for each material.\u00a0<strong> For example.\u00a0 Sand is an earth material.\u00a0 People use sand to make glass.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following students are not done with the MyOn Earth Science Project:<\/p>\n<p>Keebler&#8217;s class: 7, 9, 11, 20, 21, 23<\/p>\n<p><strong>Polster&#8217;s class<\/strong> &#8211; There are many incomplete or students who wrote summaries instead of 5 uses of earth materials.\u00a0 I am still grading them.\u00a0 Please check your student&#8217;s work.\u00a0 If there is a score then you know it is correct and complete.\u00a0 Please have them finish it if they are not complete or need to redo it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Plans<\/strong> &#8211; for the last 2 weeks we have been using our new work plans.\u00a0 This is a list of all the assignments that students needs to complete each day.\u00a0 When they are finished with an assignment and turn it in they should cross it off on their work plan.\u00a0 At the end of the week they should turn their work plan in the reading and writing box.\u00a0 They will be 5 points for turning in a completed work plan.\u00a0\u00a0 Work plans are to be kept in the back of the red homework folders.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Typing &#8211;
