New Student<\/strong> – We will have a new student on Monday.\u00a0 His name is Daniel Ockers, he is a 3rd grader from Haigh.<\/p>\n

3rd Grade Math test<\/strong> – Students will get a study guide tomorrow for their test on Tuesday<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please make sure they return the completed study guide.\u00a0 We will review the answers before we start the test.\u00a0 Here is the study guide to print, only need to print if they don’t bring it home on Monday.\u00a0 Grade+3+Unit+5+PRE-Test<\/a><\/p>\n

Science Test<\/strong> – We will be learning a couple of new terms in the beginning of the week and the Science Test will now be on Wednesday for Mrs. Keebler’s class and Mrs. Polster’s class on Thursday.\u00a0 I have found that quite a few students have not started using Quizlet yet.\u00a0 Therefore a study guide will go home on Monday.\u00a0 Here is a copy of the study guide: Light study guide flashcards<\/a><\/p>\n

Missing work and forgotten items<\/strong> – Students are often forgetting their work, gym shoes or library books.\u00a0 Here is a list of when things are due and reminders of when they need their library books and gym shoes.\u00a0\u00a0 You could print this somewhere where you and your child can see as they are leaving for school to remind them to get everything they need.<\/p>\n

The SRA and Towers will be done in school, however a gentle reminder from home before school that they need to finish each activity will be helpful.<\/p>\n

Also each child will now have a missing assignment sheet in their parent folder.\u00a0 Each time work is not completed in class they will write it on the list to complete at home.\u00a0 If it is not turned in the next day they will need to complete it at recess time.\u00a0 Hopefully, this will encourage students to complete their work in class or at home so we won’t have anyone missing recess.<\/p>\n

Spelling sorts and homework go home on Fridays and you are always welcome to turn things in early.\u00a0 Here are the Week 17 words and spelling activities:<\/p>\n

Testing<\/strong> – This week be a little different, we will be having a lot of testing.\u00a0 We will be having NWEA MAP Testing, 3rd grade Math, Science test and the District Writing Prompt test.\u00a0 Please make sure your students are well rested (10-12 hours are needed at this age) and eat a nutritious breakfast (sugar cereal will cause and energy crash mid morning).<\/p>\n

NWEA MAP Testing – the scores will show up as their reading and Math grade equivalents on the spring report card.<\/p>\n
