Spelling Homework and tests<\/strong> – I had a sub on Friday.\u00a0 The sub\u00a0 didn’t test the students on their Dolch words and they were not given their spelling homework.\u00a0\u00a0 Here are the most of the new words, we will add the Dolch words on Monday and pass them out to the class.\u00a0 We will do the spelling sort on Monday.<\/p>\n

Quizlet<\/strong> – I have added new language Quizlets to the class.\u00a0\u00a0 I have added synonyms, antonyms, homophones and prefixes.\u00a0 I would like to start testing the student in school with the Quizlet.\u00a0 If you have not set up an account for your student yet please join Quizlet and set one up this weekend so that I can start testing on Monday.\u00a0 When you pick a username please include their first name or student number so that\u00a0 I can tell who they are.\u00a0 Please send me your student’s username and password so that I can help them log in at school.<\/p>\n

Parent Connect<\/strong> – You should have all received a copy of your PIN to get in to Parent Connect.\u00a0 Please try to access your child’s account before your conference.\u00a0 This way I can help you solve any problems at conferences.\u00a0 Please check on a daily basis to see if your student has missing assignments.<\/p>\n

Helping to feed people in need- <\/strong>Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger and was created by The Imagine Render Group. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity.\u00a0 Your students have all created bowls to help raise money to feed people in need.\u00a0 They recieved an invitation to\u00a0 attend\u00a0 a fundraising event to support the hunger.\u00a0 If you arrive early you can donate and get the bowl that they made.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Filming Students<\/strong> – Meghann Mealbach from CDTV would like to visit the Art Room during Ms. Nellie’s class Monday<\/span><\/span> morning, 10:30-11:15<\/span><\/span> and Ms. Keebler’s class on Thursday<\/span><\/span> morning 8:50-9:35<\/span><\/span> in order to take publicity shots for the upcoming Empty<\/span> Bowls<\/span> Dinner on November 24<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 She may also take some video, and could be doing some interviewing of students for a story.\u00a0 The following students will not be filmed because you asked us not to or I didn’t get your concent form: Waad,, Leah, Hassan, Mahdi, and Zahraa.<\/p>\n
