{"id":2563,"date":"2013-10-07T00:02:50","date_gmt":"2013-10-07T04:02:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/?p=2563"},"modified":"2013-10-07T08:42:19","modified_gmt":"2013-10-07T12:42:19","slug":"announcements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/keebler\/2013\/10\/07\/announcements\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Spelling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have had many requests to test their students are harder words, therefore I have decided to individualize the spelling.\u00a0 Students will now be testing each other and may now take the tests at their own pace.\u00a0 They should complete at least one a week but are welcome to do more, if they finish their grade level I will move them to the next level.\u00a0 They must have 100% to pass the test.\u00a0 Because I am starting this in week 4, if students did not get 100% in weeks 1-3 they will need to redo those tests to get 100%.\u00a0 Below is a link to the new spelling page on my blog that has all the words.\u00a0 Here is a list of which week each student will be studying this week.<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50px; This week the 3rd grade will be taking the Language Arts section of the MEAP on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8th and 9th from 9 am-11 am.\u00a0 Please make sure that they eat a good breakfast, protein is best, get plenty of rest the night before and arrive on time.\u00a0 If you need to make doctor appointments please try not to schedule them during this time.\u00a0 Please make sure your student knows that MEAP is not something to be nervous about.\u00a0 It is just test like any other test we take in class.\u00a0 They just need to try to do their best.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2nd graders<\/strong> will be having math time with Mrs. Truxall during the MEAP testing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Student<\/strong> &#8211; We have a new student starting on Monday.\u00a0 She is a 2nd Grader and her name is Leah Rustom from Oakman.\u00a0 Please introduce yourself and make her and her family feel welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math Fact Sheets<\/strong> &#8211; My class is no longer doing math fact sheets each week.\u00a0 All students should be practicing in their facts everyday using <a title=\"www.everydaymathonline.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.everydaymathonline.com\">www.everydaymathonline.com.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are having any trouble getting on Everyday Math Online please come see me and I will help you solve your problem, if the devise you are using is portable (ipad, laptop, Kindle Fire) please bring it with you.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unable to practice facts on the computer then your student should be using flash cards or you should just quiz them as you drive in the car or do other activities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2nd graders should know all their addition and subtraction facts and be starting on multiplication by the end of the year.<\/li>\n<li>3rd graders should know all their addition, subtraction, multiplication and be starting on division by the end of the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Walk-and-Roll-A-Thon<\/strong> &#8211;
