I have added some ideas below that I will allow in our classroom.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8211; Party favors (bouncy balls, matchbox cars, erasers, tops, magnifying glasses, notepads, balloons, whistles, bubbles, etc.)<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; Come into the classroom and read your child&#8217;s favorite book to the class.<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; Donate something to the classroom (book or game) in your child&#8217;s name.<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; Ask the teacher for extra recess in honor of your child&#8217;s birthday.<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; Bring in something that all the children can sign as a birthday treat for your child (shirt\/sweatshirt, tote bag, autograph stuffed animal, pillow case, etc.).<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; Recommend a dance song, and have the whole class do the hokey pokey or the chicken dance, whatever is your child\u2019s favorite!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Please notify me in advance if you&#8217;d like to use any of these ideas in celebration of your child&#8217;s birthday!<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our school policy states that birthday treats may not be edible.
