Week of 12/18

Week of 12/18

The holidays are fast approaching!  We have been busy finishing some writing projects and enjoying some Gingerbread activities!

This week in…

Language Arts, the students are writing personal narratives.  We have completed one book and we are working on another!  We will have a celebration of authors in January!  We have been practicing syllables and stretching words.  Many students have been working on the green rainbow list.  Please keep practicing over the break since the students will be tested upon their return to school.

Science, we have been discussing forces and gravity and doing some experiments with that!

Social studies, we have been discussing needs and wants.  The students loved the trade project (did you see the pictures?).  We will begin focusing on Goods and Services.

Math, we are focusing on addition, teens, and skip counting by 5’s and ten’s.

Please do not forget to RSVP for the concert for Mr. Walters on Jan. 23.  We have been practicing!  SHHHHH…it is a secret for him!

On Monday, I sent some activities for your child to do over the break!  They should take about 5-15 minutes each!

Have a wonderful holiday and Merry Christmas to the families that will be celebrating!
