{"id":604,"date":"2018-04-30T16:01:09","date_gmt":"2018-04-30T20:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/jpatterson\/?p=604"},"modified":"2018-04-30T16:03:34","modified_gmt":"2018-04-30T20:03:34","slug":"monday-4-30-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/jpatterson\/2018\/04\/30\/monday-4-30-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday 4\/30\/18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday:<\/p>\n<p>What we are learning this week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In reading we are working on determining the meanings of unknown words based on the context of the story and answering questions regarding non-fiction texts.\n<ul>\n<li>Moby max non-fiction reading and moby max vocabulary are great tools for practicing this skill at home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In math we are working on determining 10 more, 10 less, 100 more, and 100 less in math, as well representing numbers in base ten blocks.<\/li>\n<li>In social studies we are learning about the past, the present, and timelines.<\/li>\n<li>In science we are learning about animal and plant characteristics.<\/li>\n<li>In writing we are working on our &#8220;Best Pet&#8221; opinion papers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am currently conducting end of the year DRA&#8217;s.\u00a0 I will be doing this for the next two weeks.\u00a0 Make sure your child is reading every day.<\/p>\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Read for 15 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Complete a weekly spelling activity<\/li>\n<li>Start your timeline project.\u00a0 The directions and template came home today- it is<strong> due by Monday May 7, 2018.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Myon Science projects are due tomorrow- students have had a month to complete them.\u00a0 I will be grading them tomorrow so make sure all of the questions have been answered and submitted.\u00a0 I will not give any extensions on this activity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday: What we are learning this week: In reading we are working on determining the meanings of unknown words based on the context of the story and answering questions regarding non-fiction texts.
