They want us see how much sugar is in what we\u2019re eating. Types of foods can cause serious health issues, obesity,and other diseases. The Obama administration believes that we could make healthier food choices by adding new labels. No more worrying about what&#8217;s in the\u00a0items you eat!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2014\/04\/New-Food-Label.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-78\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2014\/04\/New-Food-Label-246x300.jpg\" alt=\"New-Food-Label\" width=\"246\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2014\/04\/New-Food-Label-246x300.jpg 246w, https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2014\/04\/New-Food-Label.jpg 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 246px) 100vw, 246px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of our countries biggest issues is our health. \u00a0A lot of people are struggling because of the foods they eat. 63.1% of adults in the U.S. were either overweight or obese in 2009 because of the food options that they were picking. \u201cEvery time I\u2019m eating something that has sugar in it, I have to check how much calories are in it and how much sugar is in it because I \u00a0don\u2019t want to have any problems with my health.\u201d said Leena Alhawati.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Having food labels is a really good idea. It can cause less health issues. No more making fun of because how fat you are. It will be healthier for your body and healthier for your whole family.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>They want the food labels stand out on the food products. We already have food labels on our food products but they want to make it pop and make sure people are seeing what is in the product that they&#8217;re about to eat. The calorie count would appear in larger, bold typeface. \u00a0The updated label would also include a separate entry in the sugar section. \u201cI think that adding new labels would be a great idea because people are going to be more aware of what their eating.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adding new food labels is a really big deal. \u201cAdding new food labels can make this world a better place.\u201d said Lilian Nashar.
