Almost every girl in the school was excited for the season to start, with all the games, practices and the sport itself. But of course, tryouts came first. Over forty-five 7th and 8th graders came to tryouts, but only 20 of them made the team. Two of the twenty chosen were substitutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">I spoke to Aya Aode, an 8th grader who tried out and made the team. \u201cThe hardest thing about tryouts is probably how much you have to run and jump after I while it really starts to hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">When asked how she felt playing against other teams, some who are defeated, Layla Sabrah answered, \u201cit\u2019s nerve-wrecking, but I just try to stay positive because if I get nervous, I don\u2019t do as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">With only 20 open spots on the team, not everyone made it, and they were disappointed after all their hard work and effort. Zeinab Saad, 7th grade, was one of the roughly 20 girls who didn&#8217;t make it. \u201cI\u2019m okay with not making it. Just trying out and trying my best was enough to satisfy me. If I wasn\u2019t meant to be on the team, then oh well, there\u2019s always next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">This year, the girl\u2019s volleyball team plan on bringing home the trophy and all the glory that comes with it.
